Eshrat Kordestani Iran’s Flagbearer in Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony

Paralympic games kicks off on Wednesday 7 September. The four- hour opening ceremony laced high energy in Maracana Stadium of Brazil.
The world's top para-athletes ready to show their talents in 160 teams with 22 sports and 528 events over the course of 11 days of exciting competition in Rio Paralympic Games. In this ceremony each delegation was proceeded with two sided puzzle piece; one side with countries name and the other side by athletes’ portrait. All pieces were assembled on the main stage in the form of heart representing the paralympians’ heart pieces from 5 continents that this time will be unified and beaten from Maracana, Brasil. 111 athletes from Iran were marching in opening ceremony by the flagbearer Eshrat Kordestani- Iran women’s sitting volleyball player. Iran has allocated the slot in Wheelchair basketball, Archery, Shooting, Judo, Cycling, Track and field, Swimming, Canoe, Football 5-a-side, Women’s sitting volleyball, Men’s sitting volleyball, Powerlifting and Football 7-a-side. 
International Paralympic Committee president Philip Craven named 2016 Paralympics the “people’s Game.” He said that the lasting effect from the Paralympics will be the drive for greater social inclusion for disabled people across the country.  “Athletes you arrive ready to maximize your abilities and empower others to participate in sport,” Craven said. “We have done our best to ensure a level playing field for all; in return I ask you to play fair, abide by the rules and most of all have fun doing what you do best!”
The ceremony ended by final Paralympic torchbearers Antonio Delfino de Souza, Marcia Malsar, Adria Rocha Santos and Clodoaldo Silva entering the Maracana at the rainy night; Silva lighted cauldron. He is known by his 12 swimming Paralympic medals.
